- Gateshead Private Landlords Association was set up a number of years
ago to allow landlords to meet regularly, share information and encourage
good management practice and standards of accommodation. It is a partnership
between Private Landlords, Gateshead Council and other organisations such
as the Police.
- The Association aims to assist landlords to improve the standards, availability
and general running of their properties by:
- providing support for members to include the giving of advice and
information,
- liaising with Council staff in relation to housing problems,
- raising the standards of housing,
- assisting the landlord in selecting a good responsible tenant, and
by
- providing a good level of service to both landlords and tenants.
- The Association consists of a Chairperson, Vice Chair and Treasurer all
of which are elected annually at the A.G.M.
- Members sign up to adhere to the Association's Code of Practice and are
expected to adhere to the principles expected of good professional landlords
and abide by the laws relevant to landlords at all times.
