FREE ENERGY SAVINGS MEASURES

Gateshead Warm Zone are a not for profit organisation working in partnership with Gateshead Council, Gateshead Housing Company and other organisations including Scottish Power and local voluntary groups. They aim to tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency across Gateshead through an intensive 5 year project which provides home insulation measures and benefits advice.

Insulation measures (cavity wall and loft insulation) are free for homes where a resident is:

  • Over 60
  • On certain benefits
  • In fuel poverty (people spending more than 10% of income on fuel)
  • And homes with children under 6 year of age

Those who don't qualify can take advantage of an able-to-pay scheme with insulation measures from £99.
